Real Madrid beat Gijon 3-1 tonight with the help of the inevitable Cristiano Ronaldo, Higuain and Benzema in a tough game played at the Bernabeu Stadium, maintaining their four point advantage over Barcelona who had an even tougher game against Levante but still managed to win 2-1 with two goals from Messi. Real now have 85 points
The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium saw C Ronaldo break his own “Pichichi” record (Messi also equalled him tonight) when he scored his 41st goal in La Liga, while Real Madrid and José Mourinho also equaled a record of 107 goals scored in one season, held previously by John Toshack since the 1989-99 season. A phenomenal achievement when you consider they still have 5 games left, enough time to easily pulverize both records.

 Cristiano Ronaldo scores hat-trick against Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid won the local derby against Atletico Madrid by 4-1 on Wednesday, in the 33rd round of the Spanish league, played at the Vicente Calderon Stadium. The Madeira Island born Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick as well as an assist to Callejon who scored the fourth. The former FC Porto player Falcão scored the only goal for the “Colchoneros.”

Real Madrid dropped another two points to Barcelona this Easter Sunday after their 0-0 draw against Valencia at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The Catalans are now only 4 points behind Real after their easy 4-1 away win over Zaragoza last night.
Real Madrid and Valencia played a very high paced and attacking football but were unable to score goals, with goalkeepers Casillas and Guaita in great form between the posts and the main reason neither team scored.
Both teams saw their best opportunities hit the posts, with the first one coming from Cristiano Ronaldo, from a powerful shot after just seven minutes. Valencia also had a shot at the woodwork, when CR7’s Portugal compatriot Ricardo Costa imitated him, leaving Casillas watch the ball kissing the post.

 Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká during Real Madrid 5-2 APOEL Game
Real Madrid eased into the semi-finals of the Champions League tonight at the Bernabeu, by a comfortable 5-2 win, with another two goals by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Merengues will face Bayern Munich who also had an easy task last night, with a 2-0 win over Marseille (4-0 on aggregate).
For this game, José Mourinho could not count on Khedira (with a virus), Diarra and Ricardo Carvalho (both injured), but Di Maria, (many weeks off due to injury) and Callejon were available to the Portuguese coach, even though they are off of their best physical shape.

 Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates his goal against Osasuna
Cristiano Ronaldo had a fantastic game with two goals and two assists to help Real Madrid overwhelm Osasuna 5-1 in their away game in Pamploma. Higuain also scored a double while Benzema neted the other.
Most experts expected this game to be a tough one for the Merengues, but exactly the opposite happened, with Real Madrid pilling on the pressure from the beginning and the first goal came early on the 6th minute after an excellent sprint and dribble on the left by Cristiano Ronaldo, who made a deadly pass across the goal to Benzema who finished it off with a fantastic goal.

 Kaká celebrates goal against APOEL
Two goals from Karim Benzema and another from substitute Kaká confirmed the superiority of Real Madrid, commanded by José Mourinho in the first leg of the quarter finals of the Champions League in Cyprus.
Real Madrid beat APOEL 3-0, a result that leaves Los Blancos in a very comfortable position for the second leg game at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
APOEL played in what their leaders described it as “the biggest game in the club’s history” without being able to rely on one of its best players, Gustavo Manduca, through suspension, thus limiting their offensive capabilities, including the propensity to counter attack against one of the giants of world football.

Real Madrid easily beat Real Sociedad 5-1 at the Bernabeu, with the help of two goals by Cristiano Ronaldo, another two from Benzema and one from Higuain, to maintain their six point advantage over Barcelona who won in Mallorca. 2-0, with Messi scoring once.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi are now level with 35 goals scored in their epic battle to win this year’s best scorer in La Liga, and what’s even more exciting is that there are still 8 games left where both have a great opportunity to beat last years record 40 goals held by Ronaldo. The Ronaldo vs Messi duel looks even more promising this year.

 Cristiano Ronaldo disappointed after Villarreal tie game against Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo scored tonight, but for the second game in a row, Real Madrid ended with a 1-1 draw, this time against Villarreal in El Madrigal Stadium and saw their eight-point advantage over Barcelona, reduced to six points with ten games left from the end of the Spanish League.
Real Madrid had lots of difficulties against an ultra-defensive Villarreal and unable to find spaces to impose Mourinho’s brand of football, while Villarreal used all means to stop their opponents before the complacency of the referee.
